Latisse, My Results 4 Weeks In.

Thursday March 26, 2009

My first introduction to an eyelash growth product was last year when I started to use Revitalash.

When Latisse came out, I got my hands on it immediately.  For information on how to order, please read HERE.  I received the product on February 25th and eagerly followed Allergan’s usage guideline.
Do yourself and your wallet a favor, and instead of using the recommended applicators, that are too big and will cause unnecessary product waste, use a thin synthetic eyeliner brush. You will thank me for it.  Lorri Klein, M.D, featured on the video, and the person I bought Latisse from, also advises the use of a different type of brush, and even included one with my order. Unfortunately, the brush was made out of natural fiber, consequently porous, and was absorbing too much product for my liking.  With a synthetic fiber brush, the problem is rectified and works like a charm.  Latisse ranks right up there with liquid gold, I’m not losing one single drop.

Yesterday my lashes got a lot of attention.  Two of my brides actually asked if I was wearing eyelash extensions and at dinner last night Mr. Studio said: “what’s up with the lashes?” He thought I was wearing falsies.
Latisse is just fabulous, I’m totally hooked, and I’m also glad to report that after almost one month I have suffered no side effects whatsoever.

This is me this morning after applying mascara.  Too bad I don’t have any before pictures, but for those of you who know me, what do you think?

So glad to hear you are enjoying Latisse. Thanks for the mention in your blog entry above. My name is actually spelled: Lorrie Klein, M.D. though, not the “Scottish version”: Lorri McKlein MD.
I’m glad you are using the finer eyeliner brush, besides a neater application, your Latisse will also last much longer using it.

Thank you Dr. Klein for your input. Yes, I’m loving it and are recommending it to all my clients.
I changed your name to the correct spelling. Sorry about that!

Hi! Stumbled upon your blog and loving your results with Latisse. Can you recommend a brush to use instead of the applicators? The ones that come with the prescription are terrible! Thanks!

just found your site while googling ‘latisse applicators’..the brushes they include with the prescription are so thick and awkward, i felt like i was getting the medicine everywhere except at the base of my lashes! thanks so much for the link for the fine brushes. are you using multiple brushes..one for the right eye and one for the left? and then washing after each application? just curious if you’ve had an issues with eye infection since they make a big deal out of that in the instructions. thanks!

Hi jennifer! The Latisse applicators are not only akward but, it’s true , you end up wasting so much product. I’ve had the same brush (from the link I posted) since I started using Latisse. I only have one and use it on both eyes. I rinse and let it air dry every night. NEVER had any issue with eye infection. Hope that helps!

    Hi everyone,
I agree the latisse applicators being so large and wasteful. I’ve been cutting the brushes in half with clean eyebrow trimng scissors and it works great. I just cut about half the bristles off and use one brush for both eyes then use a new one each day.

Can I pour my latisse into an empty ‘rapidlash’ applicator bottle. Seems like such an easier way to go. It has the brush attached, and there’s no waste.
    Will there be contamination issues?

    • Marie-Pierre

Yes Katrina, I am thinking contamination may be an issue.
