Product Review CHANEL GLOSSIMER And a Wow Weekend

Monday April 26, 2010

CHANEL evokes elegance, sophistication with a hint of mystère.  The brand’s beautiful packaging has lured more than once to their counter, but the price point being so hard to justify, I never really felt the urge to reach for my wallet.  I finally succumbed to CHANEL GLOSSIMER ($27) one of the more known makeup products produced by the company.

Description:

“Gorgeous shimmer and a high-shine glow is delivered effortlessly to lips with just one stroke of this best-selling lipgloss. A wide range of shades, from sheer and natural to sparkling and rich, look beautiful on their own, or over your favorite CHANEL lipstick. Equally beautiful: the conditioning formula’s comfort and long wear.”

I ended up with 4 GLOSSIMERS.

From top to bottom: 89 Rose Sand, 87 Seashell, 126 Silex, 131 Mica

ON THE UP SIDE…. I really like the way they applied, very smooth, hardly sticky with no fragrance at all which is always a big plus in book.  They Look great in the sun,  pretty shimmer without looking over the top glittery 80’s.  Really wide range of colors.

ON THE DOWN SIDE… From I had read online I was expecting a lot more pigment and shine.  Maybe the other colors have more punch, but the one I purchased were all very sheer — Sheashell being completely devoid of color.  I have a tendency to like my glosses more pigmented, if I wanted a more natural look I would just use a clear gloss.  The shine and shimmer were hardly noticeable indoors and I didn’t feel they were particularly long lasting given the fact that I had to reapply within an hour.  OUCH… For that kind of mulah ($27) I better see fireworks!

Despite the hype I am not all that impressed by the GLOSSIMERS.  With an arm and a leg price tag my expectations were high…  I’m perfectly content with my lipglass!

And what a weekend it has been

All I can say is  … What a SUPER weekend it has been!  Congratulations to all our brides, Lindsay, Amanda, Tara, Sarah, Michelle, Jennifer, Adriana, and Lucy you ladies rocked big time.  We also enjoyed meeting all the Moms who bent over backward with so much love for their pride and joy you’re an inspiration, and  the bridal parties who helped make the process fun.  Oh yeah, and let me not forget my favorite MHO Courtney, girl I’m still giggling! :sideways:

Getting married is such a special time in a women’s life, we are immensely blessed and grateful to be a part of the process.  Thank you all for trusting us with you hair and makeup.  Cheers!

Thanks to all my staff who helped make it happened.  I love you guys!
