LVL Lash Before & After Photo

While lash extensions are a great solution for many, there are those who prefer LVL for a natural solution, which adds length, volume and lift to your natural lashes and lasts up to 6 weeks! Here’s a before and after pic of one of my client just done a few days ago. I also tinted her lashes during the LVL with an awesome, super high grade European eyelash tint. Sweet!

LVL treamtent cost is $75. For more info or to book an appointment please call 305.433.0064 or email info@studiomariepierre.com

LVL, The revolutionary Alternative To Lash Extensions NOW available at SMP!

My beauty philosophy, like that of many busy women, is less is more. Nevertheless, I am also quite vain and absolutely obsessed with eyelashes. So when I heard during my summer vacation in Europe about a lash treatment that lifts, volumizes and lengthens, I was intrigued by the possibilities, which seem to include looking better in the morning without having to do much. Imagine that.

I proceeded to find a salon able to provide me with the service and signed up for my first LVL. The procedure took about 45m during which I felt very relaxed. I think at one point I even fell asleep.  When it was all said and done I opened my eyes and loved the result. Length, thickness, and uplift to my very own eyelashes! By straightening rather than curling my eyelashes I ended up with a fabulous wide-awake look that is completely natural.

Then, I found out my idol Lisa Eldridge is an LVL trained specialist. That sealed the deal for me. I had to find out how to get certified.

Want the big lash look without the high maintenance of lash extensions?

Now you can have it.  While lash extensions are a great solution for many, there are those who prefer LVL for a natural solution, which adds length, volume and lift to your natural lashes and lasts up to 6 weeks!

No more frizz!

One of the major risks involved with lash perming is causing actual damage to the lashes – effectively, over-processing them causing them to frizz and curl. LVL treatments are natural and gentle on the lashes. There’s no curl, no frizz…just voluminous lashes that have been naturally lifted and straightened.

LVL uses innovative techniques to gently lift and straighten the lashes

  • LVL treatments are relaxing and gentle
  • No curl, no frizz, no discomfort
  • Length and volume for your lashes – the natural way
  • Results last up to 6 weeks

So today, I am flying to the UK for my LVL training. I am beyond excited and can’t wait to offer LVL to my brides and clients. I will share pictures on my Facebook page and instagram #mariepierresander. Please join me!

You may also call the Studio to make your LVL appointment: 305.433.0064

Treatment cost is $85.

LASHDIP Semi Permanent Mascara available Now at Studio Marie-Pierre!

For someone like myself completely enamored with flirtatious eyelashes, the minute I heard of LashDip I knew I had to look into it further. After making a couple of calls and doing a little research, I was signed up for their certification class and off to Atlanta for a few days.  Simply put LashDip is genius.

But what is LashDip?

The worlds most perfect coat of mascara” adds volume, increases length, provides lift, curve and separation — similar to that of traditional mascara — but won’t smudge or wash off for weeks.“ LashDip, was invented  by 2 lash experts Jessica Harley and her stylist business partner Gina Mondragon. LashDip is a semipermanent mascara that is applied onto each lash and will last up to six weeks. The process takes about 1 hour, the results are amazing: sculpted, lifted, thicker, longer top and bottom lashes that are long lasting. Shower, swim, cry (hello brides), and sweat without ever worry about raccoon eyes.

LashDip uses a 100% hypoallergenic, blacker-than-black gel substance to coat each individual lash and sculpt it into place. It won’t damage your natural lashes, and its toxin and preservative-free formula is gentle enough for contact lens wearers. What’s not to love?

The maintenance

The only maintenance is applying LashSeal, a clear gloss included with your service, once per week to extend wear and add shine.  We do advise in using an oil free eye makeup remover for eye shadows and eyeliner.

LashDip will grow out with your lashes, similar to extensions, but a LashRefresh appointment will spruce up your lashes offering longevity to the service

The cost

The cost is $135 for the top lashes and $60 for the bottom. Top and bottom together is $175 which includes a LashRefresh appointment at 2 to 3 weeks, and a complete removal after 6. We will also send you home with a LashSeal tube to keep your lashes looking great.

Who’s a good candidate?

You’ll love LashDip if:

  • You do not dig applying mascara everyday
  • Eyelash curlers freak you out
  • You’re going on vacation. Hello pool and beach.  Bye smudge.
  • You love looking fresh and bright eyed especially when hitting the gym, yoga or anything else that involves perspiration
  • You’re too lazy to remove your makeup before bed
  • You don’t mind spending $135 for a beauty treatment due to any/all of the above

Meghan’s Hair & Makeup And A Review

Let’s start the week with a bang shall we?  I just received a sweet review from my sweet Megan! THANK YOU!!!

Meghan and her bridal party came to the studio a couple of weeks ago to get all dolled up.  Talk about a  super fun and beautiful group!  Natalie and I had a blast getting everyone all glammed up.

Meghan wanted my signature beachy chignon that looks so great on her blond locks.  Notice on the left side, a dainty pin, her something blue. Darling!

The texture gives this style a soft romantic look.  Don’t be fooled by the loose appearance, every piece is carefully secured in place.  A couple of Dendrobium orchids add such a great touch.

I airbrushed  Meghan’s foundation, contours and highlights. The shadows were a combo of vanilla and 2 shades of mauve. Chocolate brown eyeliner, a set a false lashes.  A nude lip liner and a  light pink gloss and stunning Megan is ready!

And here’s a photo of one of Meghan’s BM.  She sat in my chair and pretty much gave me the green light to do what I thought would look best. I was immediately compelled to do a braid, angled from one side to the other, with a 3 loop bun right under. LOVE!

Thank you Meghan for your wonderful review.  I loved meeting you. Congratulations! XO

How was your Easter Sunday?

I’m still recuperating from eating waaaayyyyy too many chocolate eggs. Between the the Robin and the Cadbury I had my share of sweets.

Sunday was just marvelous! Got up early and hide the girls baskets and eggs in the mangrove. We had so much fun looking for all the hidden treats.

Then it was time for our traditional breakfast feast. And some chocolate. We left around 9:30am and headed to Fort Zachary Taylor for our Annual Easter egg hunt/picnic with friends and family. What a blast.

Happy Monday!

Key West Destination Brides – Nicole & Kim Hair & Makeup

We are full out in wedding season! Yahoo! That means extremely busy week and superdupper busy weekend. It’s fun. We love it.

Before I go today I wanted to share a few photos of a couple of brides who got married last week.

Here’s Nicole who celebrated her wedding on beautiful Sunset Key in Key West.  Nicole requested a beachy look. She wanted loose wave (no ringlets!) and and makeup that would enhance her eyes.

I airbrushed her foundation and highlights. For her eyes I and used peachy pink and brown shades as well as false eyelashes.  A gorgeous fresh flower on the side finished the look perfectly.  Nicole’s eyes were incredible!

And here’s Kim who came to get ready at the studio last Monday.  She had clip on hair extensions to get lots of lengths and volume and wanted a side pony with height on the top. LOVE!

Airbrushed foundation. Medium smokey eye.  False eyelashes.

Congrats you two!  It was so wonderful to meet you.

Kimberly, Vintage Inspired Key West Bride

Thank you for the love

Kimberly was another stunning bride, inside and out!  We first met during her hair and makeup trial preview. Even Mom loved it. Go here to see photos.

The big day was finally here. Kimberly arrived with her maid of honor at the studio to get ready.

She had brought in her new hairpiece…

…The box alone made me giddy.

Simply gorgeous.

I asked Kimberly if she was up for something a little more vintage than what we had done on the trial.  She got so excited.  Apparently her gown had a vintage feel too. Gotta love it.

No extensions needed over here.  She had tons of beautiful, subtly highlighted hair.  I created several rope braids that I intertwined and secured using hair pins and bobby pins. The sides really make it.

My goal was to keep the makeup fresh, natural while glamorous. Imagine working with yes like these… Wow double WOW.

XO Kimberley! And huge congrats!!!

Latisse 16th Week, Final Verdict

Thursday June 18, 2009

latisselashes_final

Latisse, the new hot potion for lashes is by far THE best product currently available on the market for eyelash growing.  After 16 weeks of daily application my lashes have grown considerably and thickened nicely.  Never, in my wildest dream, would have I thought my lashes could get this long, no way no how — We’re talking serious eyelash batting! I get asked regularly if I’m wearing extensions, (magic in a bottle I tell you) and I’m loving it.

I have suffered no side effects whatsoever just long, lush lashes, and while I am spending more money on mascara and eye make-up remover, I don’t mind it the least.

Maggie L.

Saturday April 11, 2009

This wedding was quiet the affair.  Maggie and her entire bridal party got ready at the Ocean Key Resort in Key West. They had rented the Mallory room for the day and what fun it was to play hair and make-up with all these ladies!

Maggie was such a sport when the ceremony suddenly had to be changed from the Ocean Key Resort to the Southernmost Mansion.  Long story, but it all worked out for the best.  Thanks to Kristin Artz, wedding directors at We’ve Got the Keys, and her magic wand.

Latisse, My Results 4 Weeks In.

Thursday March 26, 2009

My first introduction to an eyelash growth product was last year when I started to use Revitalash.

When Latisse came out, I got my hands on it immediately.  For information on how to order, please read HERE.  I received the product on February 25th and eagerly followed Allergan’s usage guideline.
Do yourself and your wallet a favor, and instead of using the recommended applicators, that are too big and will cause unnecessary product waste, use a thin synthetic eyeliner brush. You will thank me for it.  Lorri Klein, M.D, featured on the video, and the person I bought Latisse from, also advises the use of a different type of brush, and even included one with my order. Unfortunately, the brush was made out of natural fiber, consequently porous, and was absorbing too much product for my liking.  With a synthetic fiber brush, the problem is rectified and works like a charm.  Latisse ranks right up there with liquid gold, I’m not losing one single drop.

Yesterday my lashes got a lot of attention.  Two of my brides actually asked if I was wearing eyelash extensions and at dinner last night Mr. Studio said: “what’s up with the lashes?” He thought I was wearing falsies.
Latisse is just fabulous, I’m totally hooked, and I’m also glad to report that after almost one month I have suffered no side effects whatsoever.

This is me this morning after applying mascara.  Too bad I don’t have any before pictures, but for those of you who know me, what do you think?

LATISSE — First FDA Approved Eyelash Growth Treatment

Monday March 2, 2009

logo

Are you ready for some serious eyelash batting?

Latisse the only FDA approved eyelash growth treatment proven to grow lashes 25% more longer, 106 percent thicker, and 8 percent darker was approved by the FDA on December 26, 2009 and is now available only through a physician.  I just got my hands on it.  Yippie!

Allergan, the company that also brought us Botox and Restylane conducted a clinical trial with about 280 volunteers who agreed to use Latisse daily for 16 weeks.  In a published, FDA reviewed clinical trial 78 percent reported a significant increase in overall eyelash prominence.  In this study only 3.6 percent of patients reported red and or itchy eyes and none of them had a change of color of the iris, which was previously a purported side effect of the glaucoma drug Lumgan, from which Latisse’s main ingredient was, and resulted of the original Jan Marini eyelash conditioner to be pulled off the shelves by the FDA.  It’s pretty exciting if you ask me!

Applied once daily to the base of the upper lashes with a sterile, single use brush applicator, Latisse user can expect longer, fuller eyelashes in as little as eight weeks with optimal result in sixteen weeks.
To maintain result, continued treatment with LATISSE is required. If use of Latissse is discontinued, eyelashes will gradually return to where they were prior to treatment over a period of weeks to months (average eyelash hair cycle).
By the way, I found the brushes that came with the drug completely useless and I’m using instead a regular eyeliner brush.

latisse

The cost of $120 for a month supply isn’t cheap, but for $4.00 a day it’s still less expensive than a latte at Starbucks.

In the United States you will need a prescription. Online, I found SKIN1 a dermatology and laser center willing to ship me Latisse.  They faxed me a patient form to fill out along with CC info.  I faxed it back and a few days later Latisse arrived.

I’ll keep you all posted on my lashes progress.

In the meantime tell me:
