Heather + Greg’s Wedding
I recently had the pleasure of working with the beautiful Heather. It was wonderful to work with such a natural beauty.
We met Heather at her hotel the day of the wedding. “It was a custom boutique service and it was wonderful,” she told me. “I was very trusting that the stylists would be professional given the reputation of Studio Marie-Pierre. It helps that I like all things French, too!”
Heather has such luscious dark hair. We know from experience that the humidity of Key West can often have an adverse effect on it, so we went with a Brazilian blowout to help manage it. Then we went with a long, layered look to take that further. Heather wore a veil so we went with a half-up, half-down design. The upper portion was a bouffant. This can be a useful design for adding structure and keeping everything in place, as well as adding volume to the overall look. Alicia brought it all together to give Heather a soft, romantic look that wasn’t overdone, a beautiful design for her garden wedding.
Makeup had its own challenges. “I’m part-Asian, and I’m just not into makeup,” said Heather. Galina helped it make a success by keeping a natural look with a simple monolid accent.
There were a couple other events that altered the day. “My mother wasn’t there and isn’t part of my life,” said Heather. “It was stressful for me not having her there. But the stylists’ professionalism and their energy calmed me down. The whole team helped soothe my nerves. There’s even a really funny photo of Alicia and I playing around while we were doing my hair.”
The other issue was a last-minute switch from the garden to the beach. For us, the solution was simple: hairspray. The beach can be unforgiving if you don’t plan for it, so having as much support as possible was key. This ensured Heather’s style would go the distance the rest of the day. And Alicia just nailed it!
“The whole experience was as seamless and unstressful as possible,” said Heather. “The way [Studio Marie Pierre] handled all the feelings and timing issues with class was perfect.”
I’m so glad we could help, Heather. As they often say, it’s what is on the inside that counts. On your wedding day of all days that is so true – having peace, confidence and the ability to focus on the one you’re there for. By being able to adapt to the last minute changes that came your way you turned a challenge into a victory. Congratulations!
