Amanda, a bride to be this coming up November, and her MOH Farrah, came down to Key West to meet their vendors and do a boudoir session with Studio Julie.

So what exactly is a boudoir photography session?

Hint: It involves a bride sporting a lot less than her gown.  Boudoir photos are usually taken wearing either just a little, or well, nothing at all. They’re hardly X-rated though, but rather PG-13 — as in classic pinup-inspired pics, or what the pros call ‘implied nudes.’ That means you’re not wearing anything, but you’re also not showing off anything either (think shot from the back, or lying on your stomach).

Boudoir photography is definitely gaining popularity among the brides to be, but could also be for any women wanting to surprise their significant other with a special gift or just for themselves.  I heard, there’s also an increasing demand for men to do something comparable to the female boudoir.   Hey, I wouldn’t mind a little black book filled with sexy pictures of my hubby!

These photo sessions are such a wonderful and fun way to see our bodies in a totally different light.  You get to play dress up, laugh a lot, and have some really cool pictures taken of yourself.  Julie’s work is stunning, she really knows how to portray women at their best, making them feel comfortable in the process.

Amanda and Farrah arrived at the studio to get their hair and airbrush make-up done prior to their session.  Amanda wanted some clip on hair extensions put in, so I decided to take a few pictures for you all lovelies to see.

Here’s without extensions.  She did have nice hair to begin with, the extensions added a lot of fullness to her bombshell look.

First section about 2 inches above her hairline.

I teased the base before placing the first row of extension. The teasing really helps the extension stay in place. You MUST do it. 😉

First row in. After that I added 3 more rows, about 1 1/2 inch apart one another. I won’t bore you with the pictures.

I curled Samantha’s hair with my 1 inch Hoot Tool curling iron, spraying every strand before wrapping around the iron.
