Jessica + Michael’s Wedding
Jessica is gorgeous! With firey red hair and deep eyes she was a dream to style. She wanted a look that would enhance her natural beauty and make her soon-to-be husband, Michael, stop in his tracks. Done! 🙂
When Jessica walked in our door my reaction was immediate “You have the best curly hair. Tell me we’re not going to try to straighten it!” She mentioned during our phone conversation that previous hairdressers wanted to flat-iron her hair, with which she felt very uncomfortable. My thought exactly… why change something that is central to her image?
“I had looked at some styles I liked but had some problems trying to find the right hairdresser,” said Jessica. “Marie-Pierre wanted me to look as much like me as I could, not overly done, so Michael would know it was me.”
Jessica and Michael planned a beach wedding in Key West with a more formal style. But they didn’t want to ignore the beach theme entirely, thus the inspiration for Jessica’s dress, classic yet stylish with a marine theme and the dainty starfish pins in her hair.
“The experience was great!” said Jessica about the wedding prep. “The team was on-time,” she mentioned, telling me that as a Type A person that was important to her. Alicia and Galina did brilliant work with Jessica’s hair and makeup and also added individual false eyelashes, which were super important to make the look work.
How did the hair and makeup hold up?
“It definitely went the distance. My eyelashes lasted a week after the wedding, just like after the trial. I only had to do a little touchup on the lipstick later on.”
“My hair held up pretty well, which was impressive!” This is an important detail, as beach weddings can wreak havoc on a hairstyle. Taking the time to do it right can be the difference between a 1-hour hairstyle and a 1-day hairstyle. “I still use some of the products Alicia used on my hair like the anti-frizz spray. And I love the smokey eyes. The purple eyeshadow made it great.”
Michael shared what it was like when he first saw Jessica. “We had the First Look session before the ceremony. What made it so fun to see her in the full array was you could see how happy she was with the full look. That made it more fun. She was very confident. A couple hours later I see her on this brilliant walkway, and I turn around and there’s this spectacular gorgeous smiling face. She was beaming.”
I hope you’ll remember that look, and that feeling, whenever you remember your wedding day for a long time to come.
