Katie H. Vintage Hollywood Bride
Monday August 31, 2009
Katie got married at the Hyatt in Key West. The wedding theme was “Old Hollywood Glamour” and so was the way she wanted to be styled. I loved everything about her look, *EVERYTHING*.
Here’s my application’s breakdown — Questions are welcomed.
Make-up
• Skin: I airbrushed her face, neck, and decollete.
• Brows: Since they were already strong and perfectly shaped, all I needed to do was use a gel to keep them in place. For the life of me I can’t remember which product I applied, but one of my fave is Lancome Modele Sourcils.
• Shadows: with a fluffy brush I applied MAC Shroom from lash line to brow bone.
In the crease I dusted MAC Omega emphasizing the outer corners in a V shape with MAC Cork. Don’t be shy there, but blend well. To create some brightness on the inside corner of her eyes, I smudged MAC, naked Lunch.
• Liner: I chose MAKE UP FOREVER Aqua Black Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow. I drew a strong line extending out slightly in an angle. With Mac Ebony pencil, I went over the line to smooth out any imperfections. With an angle brush I used MAC carbon and went over the liner one more time. Why so many steps, you may ask? This will ensure the liner is perfect and also that it will to not budge at all. It’s Key West, it’s hot and humid and I want the liner to stay bold until the end of the night.
• Blush: I contoured her face slightly with MAC Blunt and added a touch of MAC Dolly Mix on her cheeks.
• Lips: Katie had brought her own super red, long lasting, lipstick and gloss and that was just perfect to finish up the look.
Lashes
I wanted D-R-A-M-A. Instead of using strips, I placed little clusters of lashes side by side alternating short and the medium. Vavoom no?
Hair
To create Katie’s hairstyle, using my Hot Tools 1 1/4 inch and large sections, I curled her entire head. Each section was then slicked and formed into a wide ribbon, placed one on top of the other until the chignon formed. Gwad, am I making any sense here? LOL. :silly:
The front was teased, then swept back sideways almost like a finger wave.
Beautiful pin on the side, perfect complement to her bracelet.
Katie had strict orders not to mess up her lips, so here she is sipping champagne with a pink straw — Classic.
She is stunning. The images are beautiful.
B&W or color… Impossible to choose … You get to see both. Which one do you like best?
