Mara & Andrew | Key West Destination Wedding | Casa Marina Resort

The team at Studio Marie-Pierre was thrilled to take part in Mara and Andrew’s beautiful Key West destination wedding. The couple was married at one of the premier Key West wedding location, Casa Marina Resort. It is such a stunning place, and so rich in history. The resort was conceived as a glamorous destination from the day it first opened: New Years’ Eve in 1920. Later, the gorgeous resort was used as officers’ quarters during World War II, and in the post-war world of the 1950s resumed its status as a luxurious getaway for a number of old Hollywood stars. Since the resort’s renovations that were completed the 80s, it has become a luxurious Key West destination wedding location used by so many of the brides and grooms who are drawn to Key West for a tropical and classy wedding.

I had the great honor of styling Mara, the beautiful bride, myself. She opted for airbrush makeup which I recommend to every bride for a flawless finish. A bride’s wedding day will be the most photographed day of her life, so I always want to help her look her very best. Mara’s hair was swept back into a low, intricate chignon that was adorned by a gorgeous brooch. The effect was simply magnificent over her lace, plunging-back gown. How chic!

Mara and Andrew had a first look before walking down the aisle. They had a ceremony on the sand with a beautiful backdrop of the breathtaking blue ocean. They were married under a bamboo arch that really brought together the tropical feel that inspired them to a Key West destination wedding.

One of my favorite photo is the one  at the end of the reception, when lovely bride and groom left the party in a pedicab! It’s the little details that make Key West weddings special, and they remind me every time why I love my job so much! It was such a great experience to play a part in this lovely event for a sweet couple.
