Megan & John Wedding | Smather’s Beach Key West
Happy couples are the best part of our work and we had the pleasure of Megan and John who were recently married in Key West at Smather’s Beach. We loved everything about this wedding, especially that gown! Lavryk photography was the couple’s choice to capture their special day and the result is simply fab!
The chemistry between these two love bird made for such an adorable pair. The Studio Marie-Pierre team worked with Megan on her wedding day. Her hair was styled by Erin and done in a beautiful, chic low updo adorned by some fresh orchids. We just loved her final look! So PRETTY.
Our makeup artist Robyn did Megan’s makeup in a bright natural style with a stunning coral lip that tied in with that absolutely fabulous gown! Our team was so in love with her dress.
Q&A with the Bride
We love hearing what our brides have to say about their experiences marrying in the beautiful Key West, so we sent Megan some questions about her special day. Here were her responses:
A little bit about the bride: Speech-Language Pathologist, loves all things whales and dolphins; we now live and work in Wyoming J
A little bit about the groom: Mining engineer, loves craft beer and golf
Where did you meet? From same hometown of around 1200 people (Lemmon, SD). Started dating in high school—have been together 11 years J
Who proposed and how? John proposed. Took a road trip from Albuquerque, NM (I was in graduate school, John was working in Santa Fe, NM) to Los Angeles, CA. He had planned to propose while whale watching (it was blue whale season), but we ended up not seeing any whales on our tour. He decided to propose on a grassy hill overlooking a beach in Dana Point, CA later that day with an antique 1920s emerald ring!
Wedding theme/inspiration: laid back, casual with no frills
Best moment at your wedding: having our friends and family with us
How did you pick your vendors? Say Yes in Key West did all of the planning for us, so we didn’t do much picking! I googled “best hair/makeup in Key West” and you guys popped up!
Any advice to our future Key West brides? Relax and enjoy it!
